A reformed version of the Early Career Framework, which provides standards to help early career teachers succeed at the start of their careers, will be rolled out with six delivery partners in September.

The Early Career Framework reforms are designed to create a ‘step change’ in support for early career teachers, providing a funded entitlement to a structured two-year package of high quality professional development. The reforms are part of the government’s teacher recruitment and retention strategy, which aims to improve the training and development opportunities available to teachers and boost recruitment and retention. It will provide access to high quality professional development at the start of their career.

The offer to early career teachers includes two years of funded, high quality training and a dedicated in-school mentor.

Included in the ECF are sections on:

  • Behaviour management
  • Pedagogy
  • Curriculum
  • Assessment
  • Professional behaviours
