Amanda Frolich, more widely known as Action Amanda has launched a new Early Years Training Package to support Teachers, Practitioners, Childminders and Nannies to deliver her special blend of fun, physical activities linked to the EYFS.

Amanda has more than twenty-five years experience as a young children’s entertainer and  is the founder of Amanda’s Action Club, a successful children’s parties and classes brand.

Amanda is passionate about two things – fitness and children. She oozes enthusiasm and energy and it really is infectious. Combine that with a love of song, dance and small children and it’s easy to see why her Action Club classes and parties are such a success.

Amanda believes children should be active, but also believes they should be allowed to express themselves and develop at their own pace, as every child is unique.  Her aim is to ignite a passion for fitness, exercise and movement – not only in children, but in parents too.

“One in seven children starting primary school in England is obese and by the time they leave that figure has increased to one in five – that’s a statistic that just fills me with horror.” Amanda Frolich

The NHS and World Health Organisation recommend that all children should exercise for at least one hour of moderate to vigorous activity per day, but in Early Years it is recommended that as soon as they can walk, children should be physically active for at least three hours.

All children aged under 5
Children under 5 should not be inactive for long periods, except when they’re asleep. Watching TV, travelling by car, bus or train, or being strapped into a buggy for long periods are not good for a child’s health and development.

There’s growing evidence that such behaviour can increase their risk of poor health. For children aged 5 and under the challenge is to engage them in the activity

Amanda’s Early Years Training Package
This has been devised so that anyone caring for children in Early Years can deliver Amanda’s fun, energetic and stimulating routines on a daily / regular basis, linking into the EYFS and also promoting physical activity, health and wellbeing. Amanda’s routines stimulate the child’s imagination through a unique blend of fun, interaction and movement.

The added benefits are:

  • Cost savings in relation to engaging a third party to deliver physical activity sessions within your setting
  • Continued Professional Development – Educational hand-outs and a certificate of attendance are provided at each stage of the training
  • Promoting wellbeing not just for the children but also for all those taking part in the session as they learn the principles of movement and are involved in delivering the sessions.

Amanda has also introduced monthly pricing plans to help spread the costs for her bespoke training package and will supply comprehensive invoices and breakdown of costs for your records should you be using the Early Years Pupil Premium to fund this Continued Professional Development.

Amanda piloted the training with Kim Benham, Sparkles and Millies Pre-Schools and her staff – you can read her feedback on her recent blog

  1. On behalf of the Chairman and Committee of the London Taxi Drivers Charity for Children, wishing Amanda every success in her new venture.
The support and passion she gives to so many disabled and able-body children is a credit to her.
