Linda has been a passionate advocate for health and wellbeing in Early Years throughout her career. During her 25 years as a Director of the Old School House Nursery in Cambridge she inspired her team to put wellbeing at the centre of the nursery, applying evidence-based practices based on behavioural and positive psychology and listening to what staff, children and families really wanted. This work won the nursery the international platinum Investors in People award. Linda has been also nominated for 3 successive years as one of the UKs top 10 most influential people within the childcare sector.
Known for her cross-disciplinary and collaborative approach, Linda is a well-known speaker at national and international conferences. She has worked on numerous national government committees as the voice of Early Years to raise awareness of how the sector can contribute to turning the tide on obesity and is one of the co-founders of the national Physical Activity and Nutrition Coordinator (PANCo) role and qualification.
She is currently an active representative on a number of national committees, including trustee on the National Day Nurseries Association Board (NDNA), a working member of The UK Government All Party Parliamentary Group on a Fit and Healthy Childhood and OBC Chair of the Ofsted Eastern Region Steering Group
As CEO of PurpleBee Learning, Linda is putting her years of experience and knowledge into developing a high quality practice-based online training platform for Early Years professionals that promotes positive leadership, mentoring and the fully- online PANCo qualification.
All our programmes have been created and designed by leading Early Years experts and use a step by step approach to help organisations to develop a positive workplace culture. We have tried and tested diagnostic tools that measure individual, team and organisational wellbeing followed by in-depth programmes that show EY professionals how to embed wellbeing work practices that are uniquely tailored to the needs of the organisation.
