Amanda Harkey and Alison Featherbe have ‘joined forces’ to ensure that all those working within the Early Years Foundation Stage have access to high quality face to face continued professional development.
Amanda Harkey is a very experienced and well respected head teacher who now has her own consultancy business supporting leaders in schools
Alison Featherbe is an Early Years Teacher, Mentor and Independent EYFS Early Years Consultant and Trainer who works with Nurseries and Pre Schools
They are committed to developing pedagogy and deepening learning, so that teachers and practitioners can make a difference to every child they are nurturing.
Their aim is to connect those working in EYFS settings with Early Years teams in key stage 1 so that everyone can benefit from our experience, knowledge and passion to inform understanding of how children learn and develop.
They believe in building respect and strengthening links and this has never been more important in our sector.
“It is time to recognise that we need to continue to invest in our biggest and best resource, teachers and practitioners! We know that connecting and valuing professional links within the sector benefits children, families and us! We look forward to welcoming you on our journey as we connect across the Early Years to make a difference to children”
They have launched the following three training sessions (which we are also sharing in our Events Diary)
- Developing your Pedagogy in the EYFS – Aims, Values and Principles
- Making Marks Meaningful – Developing Pre Writing Skills in the EYFS
- Moving on with Confidence – A Close Look at Transition and ‘School Readiness’
You can contact Alison and Amanda for more information about the above training sessions or to arrange in-house training by emailing: aaconnectingacrosstheearlyyrs@gmail.com
