Risk, Resilience and Relationships – Promoting Strong Emotional and Mental Health of Children in the Early Years

This series of 3 webinars are based on project delivered in Early Years settings..

Over the 3 sessions the topics covered are as follows. It has additional content, which relates to the current and on going concerns about young children’s mental health and the impact of lockdown experiences There will be gap tasks between each session.

Session 1

Putting social, emotional and mental health at the heart of providing high quality provision

The importance of the people in the child’s world and how their relationship influences the child

Session 2

Why understanding how young children’s brains develop supports our understanding of how to support their emotional, social and mental health development.

What does stress in young children look like, what do we see, how do we respond when a child is stressed and how does the child learn how to cope in the future?

Session 3

Being aware of factors, which may put a young child’s social, emotional and mental health development at risk.

Looking at a whole setting ethos which values the social, emotional worlds of children, staff and parents

There will be a useful resource and reference list sent to each participant following session three.

The webinar will take place on the following dates and times:

Session 1: 10th November, 4pm-5.30pm
Session 2: 17th November, 4pm-5.30pm
Session 3: 24th November, 4pm-5.30pm
