This is part of a series of training sponsored by Cosy. This two part course will explore Observation, Assessment and Planning, help you reflect on your practice and inform your shaping of your curriculum

Observation, Assessment and Planning are fundamental to seeing and understanding young children’s development, learning and progress. They also inform how you shape your curriculum to meet all children’s needs bringing together multiple perspectives from home, culture and community as well as the dispositions, skills and knowledge to become a life-long learner.

In this two-part course we will focus on :

· How the process of Observation, Assessment and Planning is at the core of children’s development, learning and progress.

· Using your professional skills as an observer to make informed decisions about children’s development and how you support and extend their learning.

· Making links between the EYFS Statutory Framework, children’s development (Birth to 5 Matters) and the Ofsted EIF.

· Exploring the differences between developmental progression and curriculum progression and their relationship to Observation, Assessment and Planning.
