Allergies are thought to affect more than 1 in 4 people in the UK at some point in their lives. They’re particularly common in children and knowing how to care for children with allergies is a critical part of your role in safeguarding children.
In this 1hr free Kinderly webinar, Sarah Baker from the Anaphylaxis Campaign will help you learn about:
- What an allergic reaction is
- The types of allergic reactions young children can have (e.g. to food, bites, animals, materials, medicines)
- What you can do as an early years provider to introduce control measures
- How to deal with emergencies.
Whilst this session provides no formal qualification for providing first aid for children, it will provide important principles for understanding allergies and knowing how to help children in your early years care.
Sarah Baker is the Campaign Manager at the Anaphylaxis Campaign, the only UK wide charity which exclusively meets the needs of people at risk from severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis).
