Safeguarding: Designated Lead

This course is delivered over two evenings

Part 1: Monday 15th July (6.30 pm – 9.00 pm) / Part 2: Tuesday 16th July (6.30 pm – 9.00 pm)

Aim:

To ensure that designated leads understand their safeguarding responsibilities in relation to the organisation and their colleagues

Learning Outcomes:

• Describe the role of the designated lead
• State key areas of responsibility
• Describe key legislation & guidance that underpins the role
• Identify the steps your organisation need to take to ensure the safety of children
• Detail barriers to staff reporting concerns about children and how to overcome them
• Make appropriate decisions about action to be taken
• Understand the importance of recording, storing & sharing information
• Understand emotional wellbeing of staff

Who Should Attend?

All staff who have a responsibility for designated safeguarding lead, deputy or part of a safeguarding team
