Safeguarding Children – For Childminders and Assistants

We know that safeguarding children must be at the heart of everything we do, yet keeping abreast of the changing child protection landscape can be a challenge.

The implementation of ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018’, ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education 2019’ and Ofsted’s ‘Inspecting Safeguarding in Early Years, Education and Skills Settings 2019’ as well as the launch of local and national safeguarding children initiatives means that you probably need to update your safeguarding children knowledge.

Just like all of the early years providers, Childminders are expected to be clear about what safeguarding means in practice and provide evidence of how you create and sustain a culture of vigilance where children’s welfare is actively promoted.
