This course is perfect for all practitioners wanting to further develop their understanding of SEND and especially those who are new to Early Years and those becoming a SENCO or entering Management. This course will give an overview of how an early years setting should be providing support for children with SEND. Participants will look at  early identification of SEND , SEN support in Early Years, Education & Health Care Plans, transitions and working with external specialists.

This Beginners Guide to SEND in Early Years course will enable staff to:

  • Understand how to support children with SEND.
  • Have a greater insight into the processes and procedures in the identification of SEND.
  • Increase their knowledge of external specialists and how they can help the setting.
  • Offer an appropriate transition process for children with SEND.

This course is delivered as a stand-alone course or could be combined with our Beginners Guide to SEND in Early Years – Part 1.

This course is presented by Lorraine Petersen, OBE.
