Aberdeen Branch Event – Calling All Superheroes! Exploring Superhero Play in the Early Years

Children regularly incorporate popular cultures and themes relating to superheroes into their play. Sometimes educators find it difficult to know how to respond to this play as it can include controversial notions such as weapon play, death and killing. During this session Tamsin will consider superhero play and how we can embrace this play in our settings and schools.

Tamsin Grimmer is an experienced early years consultant, author and parent who is passionate about young children’s learning and development. She believes that all children deserve practitioners who are inspiring, dynamic, reflective and loving. Tamsin particularly enjoys planning and delivering training and supporting early years practitioners and teachers to improve outcomes for young children. Tamsin has written four books including  Calling All Superheroes: Supporting and Developing Superhero Play in the Early Years.
