Janet Roberts is an early year’s specialist with a particular interest and expertise in supporting the psychosocial aspects of supporting emotional health, inclusion and wellbeing of children and the protection of vulnerable children and families.
She has spent many years working in the Early Years and Primary School sector. During that time, she has managed early years settings to secure high quality childcare and education, undertaken a range of advisory roles in Local Authorities and engaged with vulnerable families from a range of cultural backgrounds in Children’s Centres. Embarking on a BA in Early Childhood Studies and an MSc in Psychodynamics of Human Development has enabled Janet to pursue her research interests in drawing together early years and psychosocial theories to inform early years sector practice. This has led her to pursue her interest in supporting the professional development of those working in Early Years and Primary Education, and to develop a career in Higher Education, alongside running an early years consultancy and training business.

‘I would highly recommend anyone in the childcare sector to engage Janet within a training, supporting or mentoring role. She is very clear and precise in her manner, but also achieves a comfortable and nurturing persona that all of my staff at every level were able to enjoy working with and respect. Her knowledge is not only vast and up to date but she manages to share it in a way that excites staff members to really go the extra mile to enhance every child's learning.’
