Chloe has 8 years’ experience post qualifying and came from a nursery background before becoming a home-based child carer. Chloe is a successful writer, contributing to Nursery World, EYE, Nursery Management Today and ABC magazine, as well as managing the Pebbles Childcare Blog.
“Since completing my Level 3 Diploma in the “Children and Young People’s Workforce” in 2010, I gained extensive experience as a nursery practitioner in a local day nursery. My role was to support the learning and development of the children in my care and plan stimulating activities and learning experiences.
During my 6 years in the nursery setting, I worked with children from birth to 5 years and spent over 3 years working primarily within the pre-school room liaising with local schools and preparing the children for their transition to ‘Big School’.
I was also the setting’s Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator, Inclusion Co-ordinator and the named person for Behaviour Management for over 3 years. This involved supporting, planning and adapting environments effectively to suit and accommodate the children’s additional needs and learning styles. I supported children with speech and language delay and autism in accessing the learning and play opportunities of the provision on a 1:1 basis. Whilst also becoming a source of support and advice for parents and other practitioners in regards to children’s behaviour both at home and within the setting, working together in finding strategies and solutions.
In 2014, I was promoted to Senior Practitioner and integrated into the Management team alongside my role as a keyperson for children aged 2-3 years.
I also have experience in working with children aged 5-12 years as I was a Supervisor at an After School Club and Holiday play scheme attached to our nursery setting. Whilst in this position I completed my Level 3 Playwork qualification. This included managing and supporting “Risky Play” and planning and delivering play opportunities based around the elements (Water, Air, Fire, Earth).
I made the transition into home-based childcare in February 2016 and joined Bridgit at Pebbles in order to apply my experience on a smaller, more personal level as well as focusing on completing my Level 4 in Early Childhood Studies which I achieved in February 2017.”

We cannot fault Pebbles childcare – they are amazing! Both our children love attending and Bridgit and Chloe are so warm , fun, caring and engaging with the children. The thought and planning they put into the children’s experiences and learning is outstanding. I love how they take into account the children’s personal interests when planning trips or activities. I also like that Pebbles provide food, and my two love the home-cooked meals. Chloe and Brigit always keep us informed of what they are doing and it’s great seeing pictures of the children having fun throughout the day. I feel like we have struck gold finding Pebbles; it’s great being part of the Pebbles family!
Pebbles has given both of our children so many happy memories. Bridget and Chloe always go the extra mile to make every child feel special, nurturing their holistic development in a home from home environment. Pebbles is a part of our family! The wider Pebbles team of Billie, Ben, Tom, Luca, along with all the friends and family that are connected to Pebbles, provide a well rounded mix of social experiences that have helped Yasmin and Alexia gain both confidence and social skills. The wide range of activities and trips they take part in has developed a curiosity and sense of adventure in all they do. Yasmin says “The best thing about Pebbles is playing in the garden with my friends” Alexia says the best thing about Pebbles is “Play!” Sara says “The best thing about Pebbles is how active and ‘outdoorsy’ they are.” I say the best thing about Pebbles is Chloe’s banter.
The Ball Family
Fantastic, friendly setting with stimulating environment. Children are encouraged to explore and experience new things. The Pebbles team is friendly, caring and always go the extra mile. My two children love going there. They get very excited the day before going to Pebbles and can’t wait for the morning to come!
Our daughter has grown and flourished during her time at Pebbles. This has undoubtedly been down to the amazing relationships that Chloe and Bridgit nurture between the children and themselves, it really does feel like one big family. We love that Florence is always out and about visiting new places that are adapted to tap into the interests of the children. Equally it is just lovely to see her curled up on the sofa under a blanket with her friends in Bridgit’s home. We feel incredibly lucky to have found and to be a part of the Pebbles family!
