Bridgit has over 25 years’ experience in the childcare sector, during which she has worked for a variety of different organisations and performed a variety of roles. She has contributed to the success of winning numerous awards in the early years sector and been published in a variety of childcare journals including Nursery World and Nursery Management Today.
“I qualified as a Nursery practitioner in 1990, after which I started my career as a private nanny for a family in Hove, caring for their 12-week-old daughter and later their second child.I then joined a private nursery chain operating in and around southern England. Early Years childcare was originally established in Brighton and later opened settings in Worthing, Lewes, Haywards Heath, Crawley, Greenwich and Basingstoke.
During my 18 year career with Early Years Childcare, I started as a nursery practitioner working directly with children aged 0-5 years, progressing to nursery management at the Hove setting, a 70 place nursery rated as good by Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education, Along the way, gaining an invaluable wealth of experience in child development and care (including an extensive trip to Reggio Emilia in Italy to observe the practice and understand the Reggio approach to childcare).
After the birth of my son in 2004, I returned to Early Years Childcare as Playscheme Manager and was responsible for organising and managing summer and Easter holiday childcare for over 300 children, aged between 4 and 13 for parents working at GlaxoSmithKlein (GSK) Pharmaceutical company in and around London and the home counties.
In 2008, I was promoted to the Quality and Development team, working closely as part of team in supporting the 9 nursery settings, developing childcare practices and standards and service levels. This led to Early Years Childcare being nominated in a number of categories at the childcare sector events (Nursery World and Nursery Management Today awards).
After Early Years Childcare was taken over by Busy Bees in 2011, I declined the offer of becoming a regional Childcare Officer, to focus my attention on supporting my close friend and colleague in setting up her own nursery in Hove, East Sussex.
I later became manager of Little Rascals Nursery in 2014, a 45-place setting in Worthing, West Sussex. In July of that year, the nursery was rated as “Outstanding” by Ofsted following our inspection.
I am really proud of what we deliver and offer our children and families at Pebbles Childcare and what we have achieved in the past three years of operation. I love being with and planning learning opportunities for our children and watching their learning come to life.”

We cannot fault Pebbles childcare – they are amazing! Both our children love attending and Bridgit and Chloe are so warm , fun, caring and engaging with the children. The thought and planning they put into the children’s experiences and learning is outstanding. I love how they take into account the children’s personal interests when planning trips or activities. I also like that Pebbles provide food, and my two love the home-cooked meals. Chloe and Brigit always keep us informed of what they are doing and it’s great seeing pictures of the children having fun throughout the day. I feel like we have struck gold finding Pebbles; it’s great being part of the Pebbles family!
Pebbles has given both of our children so many happy memories. Bridget and Chloe always go the extra mile to make every child feel special, nurturing their holistic development in a home from home environment. Pebbles is a part of our family! The wider Pebbles team of Billie, Ben, Tom, Luca, along with all the friends and family that are connected to Pebbles, provide a well rounded mix of social experiences that have helped Yasmin and Alexia gain both confidence and social skills. The wide range of activities and trips they take part in has developed a curiosity and sense of adventure in all they do. Yasmin says “The best thing about Pebbles is playing in the garden with my friends” Alexia says the best thing about Pebbles is “Play!” Sara says “The best thing about Pebbles is how active and ‘outdoorsy’ they are.” I say the best thing about Pebbles is Chloe’s banter.
The Ball Family
Fantastic, friendly setting with stimulating environment. Children are encouraged to explore and experience new things. The Pebbles team is friendly, caring and always go the extra mile. My two children love going there. They get very excited the day before going to Pebbles and can’t wait for the morning to come!
Our daughter has grown and flourished during her time at Pebbles. This has undoubtedly been down to the amazing relationships that Chloe and Bridgit nurture between the children and themselves, it really does feel like one big family. We love that Florence is always out and about visiting new places that are adapted to tap into the interests of the children. Equally it is just lovely to see her curled up on the sofa under a blanket with her friends in Bridgit’s home. We feel incredibly lucky to have found and to be a part of the Pebbles family!
