Ali’s career has taken her from Deputy Head in a primary and nursery school through leading the PGCE at Kingston University, to her current role as SENCo in a small infant school in Guildford. She also is an assessor, mentor and coach for trainee teachers with the pioneering South Farnham SCITT. Partnered with this, Ali has researched and developed unique training for parents and education professionals which are accredited with CANParent and have been said to leave a lasting legacy. Her first book Making it Better for Boys continues to do this and is considered by many to be ‘My Bible on Boys’

Ali has recently spoken at The Big Ofsted Conversation and at a national Early Years Conference in Bucharest and visited settings in Vancouver, Canada.

Her formal qualifications are a BA Hons in Music and Education followed by a PGCE and a Dip Ed in Professional Development. Ali is also a published author and an experienced SENCo. Her courses have also been accredited by CANParent.

Ali knows the pressures and pleasures of working in schools and settings, loves learning and helping others learn in order to bring out the best in their children and in their own practice. She is currently researching and writing her third book ‘The Journey from Stickers to Self-Regulation’ and her new book for parents of boys will be out soon. Ali’s writing, research and training have supported many thousands of educators and families over more than twenty years, and she still doesn’t look a day over twenty-one!

She works with colleagues from Australia, Bucharest, the USA and Canada . She appears regularly on Early Years TV and often speaks for BBC local radio.

Ali’s first book Making it Better for Boys was published in 2008 , Her new books ‘ Bring out the Best in Your Boy’ and ‘ The Journey from Stickers to Self-regulation – Understanding and Supporting Behaviour are due out in 2021. Ali has been supporting educators and parents in her own unique and unforgettable style since 1998
