An enabling environment is key to a child’s overall developmental opportunities, experiences and emotional connections with those other than their parents and carers. But how do we provide an environment that supports this? This presentation will explore the importance of an enabling environment, how we can specifically provide an emotionally safe environment, the impact if we don’t and how we need to remain open to new ways of working in this current climate. Including developing our understanding of a trauma informed approach to best support and care for our children who may of experienced heightened levels of stress and anxiety. We will also explore the importance, now more than ever, of a home/nursery connection to support the home learning environment.
